V\u00e2nia Rovisco<\/b><\/u> – Durban, South Africa (1975).<\/span><\/p>

attended the course of Contemporary Dance for Interpreters by Forum Dan\u00e7a in Lisbon, Portugal.<\/p>

In 2001 she was a guest student at the Centre Chor\u00e9graphique National de Montpellier. She co-created with choreographer Meg Stuart\/Damaged Goods in Alibi, Visitors Only, Replacement, It\u2019s not funny, the duet Inflam\u00e1vel and in the improvisation projects Revisited and Impressions. She has directed and continues to direct movement for various theatre pieces in Lisbon.<\/p>

In 2006 she moved to Berlin, where she took part in Gordon Monahan\u2019s installation Gordon Monahan and Theremin in the Rain Concert Performance. With musician Jochen Arbeit and performance artist Abraham Hurtado she created the artistic platform Aktuelle Architektur der Kultur – AADK which later expanded to Spain and Portugal, where various projects and concepts are projected as spaces to create within. With Belgian plastic artist Hans Demulenare she created No Titles but Layers (2007), an installation\/performance of space, where she conceived a movable object The Frame. As an actress she participated in film projects by visual artists Julian Rosefeldt (Milk, 2007) and Pierre Coulibeuf (D\u00e9dale, 2009).<\/p>

Being a freelancer she engages her time with her own work researching elements of improvisation into composition.<\/p>

V\u00e2nia Rovisco uses the simple articulation of meaning devices such as wording, the formal hybridity, the cadence and articulation of time, the inherited geometries of choreography\u2019s use for affirmation or disruption of social standardization, such entries and projections are displayed on the body and modes. Bringing the performative work towards the geography of affections and relations (framing, accelerating, intensifying the bodies), including it in the gallery space \u2013 requiring therefore a recasting of the guidelines, expectations and involvement, turning the public into a co-creator attaining singular experience, mediator of the results, and living document of the process. Her work includes video installations, performance as a live installation, installation, music and performance, with prevailing a common denominator: the production of meaning as an encounter between and departing from bodies\/movement.<\/p>

In 2014 she conceived the project REACTING TO TIME – portugueses na performance, which deals with the transmission of archive performances from the 70’s and 80’s that took place in Portugal. In 2017 she directed the group piece entitled Equanimidade e\/ou nimo Inalter\u00e1vel. In 2019 held the curatorship of the 4 months course, Performing Arts Advanced Program – PACAP3 for F\u00f3rum Dan\u00e7a. In the same year began The Plot \u2013 AADK Portugal, a 5180m2 piece of land with the vision to blossom into a creative artistic life experience working space of being. Currently continues to work as a performer, mentor and author of own work.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
